The Wolves played the Monticello Panthers this week. The captains for the Wolves were Chase Cassisi, Liam Collins, Joseph Delgardo and Nickolas Gannon. This was a total team effort. On offence, the blocking of the offensive line was outstanding. They consistently opened holes for the running backs. The line consisted of Nicholas Gannon at center, Matthew Purdy and Nicholas Solek at guards, Liam Collins and Brian Nazario at tackles, and Gino Narcise and Dylan Sanchez at ends. Scoring touchdowns for the Wolves were Chase Cassisi on a 30 yard run. Brett Kalus on a 30 yard run. Dylan Sanchez on a 20 yard run. Matthew Lopez on a 10 yard run. Joey Delgardo scored twice one 10 yard, one 5 yard. Also getting big runs on offence were Rylan Toledo, Tristan Katzman, Gino Narcise, and Kevin Schwartz who ran in for an extra point. Jake Zelencich also had a touchdown run, but it was called back on a holding penalty. The defense came up real big for the Wolves. Johnny Tecklenburg, Jason Vergeli and Justin Godino, just to name a few, caused and recovered fumbles, sacked the quarterback and made numerous tackles in the backfield. The final score was Wolves 40 Monticello 0. Again the Wolves would like to thank the Cheerleaders, rain or shine, win or lose you always do a great job.

The D1 Wolves win an impressive home opener at Lasser Park. After a bye week last week the Wolves shook off a little dust and met with a very tough prey the V.C. Gray football team. The Wolves have had 2 weeks to prepare for this contest with one goal in mind, winning at home. Captains for this game were Thomas Cudmore, Noah Cunningham, Kolby Moyer, Justin Nunez and Tyler O’Neill. The Wolves went right to work biting off 10 plays for 82 yards and scoring his 1st TD of the season was Alex Morales who bolted in for 7 yards. Gino Thomas Narcise ran in the extra point and the Wolves took an early 7-0 lead. VC was not about to give up so quickly and showed tremendous effort by scoring on their next drive but missed the extra point the Wolves lead 7-6. The offense for the Wolves kicked into high gear on their 2nd possession as the Wolves capped off another impressive drive, 6 plays for 68 yards and Alex Morales with his second TD of the day, the extra point was missed and the Wolves lead 13-6.
The Wolves defense stopped VC on their next 2 possessions and the Wolves offense was hungry for more points 7 plays on a 93 yard drive & Gino Thomas Narcise ran in for the 3rd TD of the day and Chase Casissi finished it with the extra point. Wolves lead 19-6. VC fought back hard and answered again with a score and inched closer as the half ended with the Wolves lead 19-12.
The Wolves fired up for the second half of play accepted the ball, 3 plays and 65 yards later Chase Casissi got his 1st TD of the day behind the fine blocking of Tyler O’Neill and Chase ran in the extra point as well. VC was no match for the Wolves in the second half as the conditioning and hard work kicked in for speedster JP Incledon who busted a 64 yard run to the V.C. 5 yard line and Gino Thomas Narcise got his 2nd TD of the day extra was no good Wolves win 32-12. Coach Narcise
Washingtonville Wolves 19 - Monticello 6
Division 1
The Division 1 Wolves win on the road in Monticello and advance their record to 3-0.
Captains for this game were Billy Besold, Jason Cooper, Thomas Garrison, Tristan Katzmann and Rylan Toledo. Playing this contest throughout the first half of the ball game in the rain was no easy task for the Wolves against this big Monticello team. Ball control for the Wolves and big defensive plays held Monticello from establishing any kind of ground game for most of the day. Monticello won the toss and elected to take the ball behind their big offensive line. Monticello on their opening drive confident to pickup a 1st down found themselves with a 4th and 5 on their own 40 yard line. But the mighty Wolves defense would not allow it and Monticello turned the ball over on downs. This sparked the hungry Wolves offense which ran for over 400 yards in their previous game and marched off a 9 play drive for 43 yards scoring was Chase Casissi on a 8 yard run the extra point was stopped and the Wolves took a 1st quarter lead 6-0. In the second quarter both defenses held strong stopping each others offensive plan as the rain fell steadily the half ended Wolves 6 Monticello 0.
The Wolves packed together and put their second half game plan into effect. The third quarter opened up with the Wolves receiving the ball, blasting the holes up front on the offensive line lead by Noah Cunningham, Thomas Cudmore, Justin Caraballo, Brendan Hogan, Nicholas Solek, Justin Nunez, Jake Zelencich, Kolby Moyer, Billy Besold, Jason Cooper, Thomas Garrison, Tristan Katzmann, Rylan Toledo and Kevin Walla knocked off an 11 play drive with Gino Thomas Narcise scoring his first TD of the day on a 9 yard run and Chase Casissi scoring the extra point giving the Wolves a 13-0 lead. Monitcello continued to struggle offensively as the shifty Wolves defensive players lead by Jake Zelencich, Tyler O’Neill, Nicholas Solek, Noah Cunningham, Alex Morales and Vincent Martello who laid out some big hits in Monticello’s backfield. The Wolves offense would take the ball in the 4th quarter and speedster JP Incledon had Monticello giving chase all day leading the way for another 11 play drive for 56 yards and scoring on a tremendous block from Chase Casissi for his 2nd TD of the day was Gino Thomas Narcise. Wolves lead 19-0. Monitcello would find daylight as they played tough football all day and finished the day with a score. The Wolves offense racked up 220 yards on the ground scored 3 TD’s and 1 extra point, on defense the Wolves held Monticello to a total of 43 yards.
Congratulations Wolves on another great victory everyone worked as a team. Thank you to all the Wolves Cheerleaders for those awesome cheers and support Amanda Brosnan, Victoria Butler, Gianna Dugan, Toni Esposito, Kristen Keown, Julia Laquidara, Kali Laux, Gabriella Markgjonaj, RaeAnn McDonald, Leigha Medina, Kylie Purves, Nicole Calabrese, Kelly Kennedy and their Cheer Coaches Lori Laux and JoAnn Halland and the parents who made it out to the game and everyone who helped out on game day. Division 1 Washingtonville Wolves 4-0
Remain Undefeated Win in Overtime
The Wolves advance their record to 4-0 this past weekend at Lasser Park against the 3-1 Cornwall Dragons. The Dragons looking to upset the mighty Wolves in one of the best defensive battles of a Division 1 football game ever played. Captains for the Wolves this game were Justin Caraballo, JP Incledon, Vincent Martello, Alex Morales, Kevin Roman and Kevin Walla. Cornwall won the opening toss and elected to defer to the second half. The Wolves offense put together their best drive of the day in the 3rd quarter, 11 plays for 70 yards only to be halted on the Cornwall 11 yard line. As a defensive strategy the Wolves punted on 6 of their 9 possessions during regulation game time pinning Cornwall deep in their own territory most of the day. Cornwall unable to make much happen with their spread option offense were forced to punt 7 times throughout the game and turned the ball over with Wolves defender Jake Zelencich’s great interception stopping Cornwall’s opening drive of the second half.
The Wolves offense who has dominated every opponent in the past three games found their defense stepping up as planned in this ball game in a big way. Holding the Dragons to 78 total yards in front of that mighty defensive line for the Wolves were Noah Cunningham, Thomas Cudmore, Brendan Hogan, Nicholas Solek, Justin Nunez, Kolby Moyer, Billy Besold, Jason Cooper, Thomas Garrison, Tristan Katzmann, Justin Caraballo and Rylan Toledo.
As the fourth quarter ended the Wolves regrouped and put their offensive overtime plan into effect. Overtime rules allow each opponent one possession from the 20 yard line till one team scores. The Wolves took the ball on offense first and on 2nd down from the 18 yard line Gino Thomas Narcise broke it open and ran over three Dragon tacklers, sprinted down the sideline into the end zone and scored in overtime to break the tie for the Wolves 6-0 lead. Cornwall’s offense had their opportunity and the Wolves defensive line lead by Nicholas Solek and Vincent Martello pounded the Dragon quarterback who passed the ball into the air. Wolves defender Chase Casissi would not allow it and intercepted the ball that ended the Dragons final drive. Game over! Wolves win 6-0 in O.T. Great tackles were made by Tyler O’Neill, Chase Casissi Gino T. Narcise, Alex Morales, Jake Zelencich, Vincent Martello, Nicholas Solek, Justin Nunez, Brendan Hogan, Thomas Cudmore & Noah Cunningham and the entire mighty Wolves team.
